Not as well as the specialists, of course, but a Linewoman can grab the ball, a Thrower can tackle, and Blitzers can recieve. Other teams have it even worse, like Chaos and High Elves, where their whole team can only really do one thing.Īny Amazon can fill in for any other position and 'make do'. Every player can only do one thing (admittedly, pretty well), and to me, that's incredibly predictable, and thus boring. Any deviation is functionally impossible. Nice player mix, but each player is locked and bound to a single job. Frankly, I've found most other teams quite boring. You weren't going to get Tackle for them? How about that Skaven team, too?" It just seems so misplaced. To which, I always thought "Wait, there's three Elf teams in your season roster.

I've seen people say that their Dwarf team now absolutely MUST get Tackle (which cancels Dodge), now that there's one Amazon team in their season roster. And for a team with mid-range armor like the Amazons, not getting knocked down is rather vital to not dying. The catch is, that just about every team could, in fact, get most if not all of their team members with blodge, it's just not so common. Amazons can achieve this on all of their players with one level of experience, and one player position even starts off with it. "Blodge": For those who don't know, this means Block and Dodge skills on the same character, which results in turning two tackle results ( ! down and both down) into mostly-harmless results for the blodger. The very few specifics I've found have been thus: Every time I try to dig up specifics, there's practically none to be found, just generalized accusations and name-calling ("scrub team").

I'd like to know why some people really seem to hate them.

I've always been curious as to generalized dislike I've seen in the Blood Bowl fan base specifically aimed at the Amazons team, and anyone who decides to play them. Idiot trolls won't even make it to the end of that sentence. This has nothing to do with Cyanide's plans for team release.
